How to Add PDF Page Numbers

Numbering Options

Set a custom starting number, prefix, suffix, font size, color, opacity, rotation, margin, and one of nine page positions.

Apply numbering to all pages or a custom range. You can also skip the first page for cover-page documents.

Common Errors and Quick Fixes

PDF cannot be read: it may be damaged, encrypted, or password-protected.

No number appears on page 1 preview: the first page may be skipped or outside the custom range.

Text is outside the page: reduce the margin, font size, prefix, or suffix length.

Unsupported prefix characters: use standard Latin letters, numbers, and punctuation.
